Generosity

We sat a table up at Wal-Mart today to take donations to send to Hope for Haiti. We were very excited to talk to people about what we are doing and why. We were very overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. We cried a lot and laughed a lot more. We want to thank everyone for their generosity!

There were many things that drove the three of us ladies to try to make a difference to the orphans lives in Haiti. Watching the news coverage, reading the news online. It all grabbed us and made us want to act. We also fully believe that God placed it on our hearts. We all agreed when we started this that if all we collected was one can of formula then that was a start. Every little bit helps. We all three feel very blessed to have children tucked in their beds. And each of us said we wished we could kiss the orphans and tell them they are loved. They are children. Their story is a sad one, but we hope we can help. We hope as they receive our items they will know they are loved and prayed for.

Here is a site that explains some of their struggles...

Progressing...

We have our contacts into Haiti!! Barbie has been working hard at making contact with Nathaniel Frank's mother. He helps run House of Hope. To learn more about House of Hope view their website- www.houseofhopehaiti.com

Nathaniel's mother, Annette, who lives in Oberlin will take what we collect to them personally. This is exciting since we know it goes to the right hands! We also learned they are in desperate need of health kits along with the baby supplies.

I have been asked a lot what all we are collecting. Right now, we will collect all baby related items. This includes formula, medicines, blankets, diapers, etc...

If you have any questions about what we are accepting please contact one of us.

We will also collect health kits to send with them. The items for them are- shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, tylenol, neosporin, bandaids, toothbrushes and wide tooth comb. Our main goal is to get them anything they may need.

The donations have started to roll in and we are really excited to see people get excited about helping. More updates to come...

Just Getting Started

By now, you've all watched helplessly as the gruesome images from the Haiti earthquake flash across your TV screens. After watching the news coverage and seeing pictures a group of us mothers decided to take action and do something to help. We are starting a formula drive to send to the orphanages in Haiti. After contacting several orphanages the response has been overwhelmingly grateful for our help.

We are also collecting other baby and children items and hope to have a list of their needs to update within the next several days.
